Ilish Macher Jhol (Hilsha
fish recipe)
Ingredients:

500 gm dressed Hilsha
fish (cut into medium pieces) -
2 potatoes
(cut into medium size) -
4 brinjal
(cut into big size) -
2-3 green chili
-
1-teaspoon nigella
seed -
2-teaspoon turmeric
powder -
1/2-cup mustard
oil -
Salt & sugar according to taste

2-cup water
Preparation:
-
First marinate the fish with a pinch of turmeric
powder, salt & few drops mustard oil. -
Heat the oil in a pan and medium fry the fish carefully
and keep aside. -
Heat the oil in a pan, add the kalonjee seed and green
chilli for sauté. -
Add potato and brinjal pieces & fry it for few min.

Add turmeric powder, salt and sugar to taste &
cooked it for 2 min. -
Add water and cooked it for 5 min with cover.

Add the pre-fried fish & cooked it for 2 min.

Ilish macher jhol is ready.

Serve it with steamed plain rice.
