Keema Kofta Curry (A dish of minced Meat Dumplings)
Ingredients:
For Kofta:
- 500 gm minced mutton
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2-3 green chilies
- 2-3 tablespoon coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- Salt To taste
For gravy:
- 1 cup of onion (finely chopped)
- 1 cup of tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon ginger–garlic paste
- 4-5 green chilies (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 3-4 cloves
- 2-3 cardamoms (black)
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 5-6 tablespoon mustard oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon coriander
leaves (finely chopped)
Preparation of Kofta:
- Wash mince and squeeze out water.
- Finely chop coriander leaves and green chilies.
- Mix all the ingredients together.
- Make medium sized koftas and keep aside.
Preparation of Gravy:
- Grind tomatoes, cardamoms, cloves and the powdered spices together and keep aside.
- Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the cumin seeds, bay leaves and ginger-garlic paste till golden.
- Add chopped onion and green chilies and fry it properly.
- Add tomato mixture, sugar and salt to the onions and continue frying on a low flame.
- Then, put the koftas into the gravy and wait till the koftas leave water and then only if required add more
water and let the koftas cook on a low flame till it is done. - Once cooked properly, remove from gas and garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot.
