Makai ka Bharta (Spicy Corn Recipe)
Ingredients:
- 1 kg fresh corns
- 3 medium onions
(chopped) - 3 medium tomatoes
(chopped) - 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili
powder - 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 6-7 green chilies
(chopped) - 3-4 tablespoon mustard
oil - Salt to taste
- 2-3 tablespoon fresh, chopped green coriander
(cilantro) (for garnishing)
Preparation:
- Boil the whole corn, take off the niblets and grind it coarsely in a blender.
- Heat oil in a pan, sauté the cumin seeds and stir fry till they crackle.
- Add chopped onions and stir fry till light brown.
- Add chopped green chilies and stir fry for 1-2 min.
- Then, add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and
salt to taste. - Stir fry for few seconds and add chopped tomatoes.
- When tomatoes are cooked and properly mix with corn, add little water.
- Stir fry for another 5-10 min.
- Serve hot with chopped green coriander.
