Elephant foot aroid (olkachu) curry with Prawn 

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. Marinate the washed prawns with a pinch of turmeric and salt.
  2. Boil the Elephant foot aroid (olkachu) pieces, drain the water and keep aside.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the panch-phoran.
  4. Add coconut and ginger paste and fry till light brown.
  5. Add marinated prawns and fry it properly.
  6. Add remaining spices, salt and sugar to taste and cook till oil is separated.
  7. Add pre-boiled Elephant foot aroid (olkachu) pieces and mix with spices properly.
  8. Add 1-2 cups of water and shimmer for 10-12 min with cover.
  9. When the gravy becomes thick, remove from gas.
  10. Serve hot with Plain
    rice
    .
